Hi Everyone!

A quick update for a few things happening within the Association.

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada AGM

The Board of Directors has decided that the first AGM for Cider Canada / Cidre Canada will be held on March 8th, 2022 at 1pm Eastern (Online). Much more details to come, but this will be an opportunity to select the board of directors for the association.

Membership Statistics

Membership List – Up to 82 Members, below is some data from the first 67 who joined.

Update on Excise

Our primary focus right now is working with industry partners (provincial associations, other alcohol associations) and the Federal Government to make sure that the Excise Duty coming into effect has as little impact on production and operations as possible.  We are working on securing a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Marie-Claude Bibeau – but may ask for your help to reach out to your local MP.

Cider Canada Lobbying & Advocacy Support

We are thrilled to announce Shae McGlynn of Rubicon Strategy as our official lobbying and advocacy firm!

French?

Note that I (Barry), am an Anglophone but understand the importance of our bilingual country.  We are doing our best to make sure membership information is available in both languages and  try to make sure all social media, policy and information is shared in both English and French.  When possible, we use a translator (thanks Sarah) to assist and make sure it’s better than google translate.

Feel free to reach out at any time!

Barry Rooke

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada Executive Director
