Conference Committee

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada is looking for assistance in running its first national conference.   This group will help generate ideas, support and decisions around how Cider Canada runs its first conference.  The conference is tentatively set for Ottawa March 5-9th, including a day for lobbying and a festival.  Participants will help by taking on key roles, including but not limited to Venue, Registration, Tours, Lobbying Event, Volunteer Management and public-facing festival.  The conference will work alongside provincial, state and other alcoholic (Specifical Craft Spirits) to make sure there are multiple streams of learning.  It is expected that the committee will take 3-5 hours a month of time with most work happening over email with the odd online meeting until the fall of 2023, and then that time will expand.  Those on the committee will be compensated to attend and participate at the conference.

Full details on how the group works is outlined in the Terms of Reference, which have been approved by the Board of Directors.  We are looking for a mix of cider producers, association staff/board members and event specialists;  we are aiming for a diverse group including size, location, operational style and a diverse set of personal characteristics (E.g. we are looking for women, people of colour, LGBTQ2+, etc)

Data Committee

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada is looking for assistance in developing a national strategy to generate and utilize data on cider sales and consumption in Canada.  This group will work with the government and businesses to gather, analyze and report to members about data related to the cider industry.  It is expected that the committee will take 3-5 hours a month of time with most work happening over email with the odd online meeting.
