Cider Canada / Cidre Canada is happy to announce the engagement of Barry Rooke,  as the Executive Director for the new national cider association.  Barry has been brought on from the Interim President role, and as the individual who started putting the national association together. 

Barry Rooke is originally from Guelph, ON.  His academic and work experience focuses mostly around radio, as he is currently the Executive Director for the National Campus and Community Radio Association since moving to Ottawa in 2015.   He recently graduated with a Certified Association Executive designation from the Canadian Society of Association Executives, a professional designation focused on managing associations.  In May of 2021, he was awarded the CSAE Ottawa-Gatineau Emerging Talent Award.  He also holds a masters degree in Capacity Development and Extension from Guelph in 2013, along with Human Resources certification

Note that as of the hiring for this position, Barry has been approved by the board of directors to remain involved with The Cider Crate, and Ciders of Canada, two social media and website accounts which he developed with his partner, Bethany, since 2016. In accordance with best practices around conflict of interest, Barry will not be doing any work that is related to the association and those brands will not receive any special treatment under the association.

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada est heureux d’annoncer l’embauche de Barry Rooke, à titre de directeur général de la nouvelle association nationale du cidre. Barry a été amené du rôle de président par intérim et en tant qu’individu qui a commencé à mettre sur pied l’association nationale.

Barry Rooke est originaire de Guelph, en Ontario. Son expérience universitaire et professionnelle se concentre principalement sur la radio, puisqu’il est actuellement directeur général de l’Association nationale des radios étudiantes et communautaires depuis son arrivée à Ottawa en 2015. Il a récemment obtenu un diplôme de directeur d’association agréé de la Société canadienne des directeurs d’association, un titre professionnel axé sur la gestion d’associations. En mai 2021, il a reçu le Prix ​​des talents émergents de la SCDA Ottawa-Gatineau . Il détient également une maîtrise en développement des capacités et extension de Guelph en 2013, ainsi qu’une certification en ressources humaines.

Notez qu’au moment de l’embauche pour ce poste, Barry a démissionné de The Cider Crate et de Cidres du Canada, deux comptes de médias sociaux et de sites Web qu’il a développés avec sa partenaire, Bethany, depuis 2016.
