Bring Canadian Cider to Your Market

Discover Canadian Cider: Distinctive Products, Regional Stories and New Partnerships

Canadian cider offers international buyers an opportunity to bring something distinctive to their customers: a wide range of styles, a connection to Canadian agriculture, and the stories of the people and places behind each product.

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada is the national not-for-profit association supporting Canada’s cider industry. We help importers, distributors, retailers and hospitality buyers discover Canadian producers and explore partnerships that fit their markets.

Whether you are expanding an established cider portfolio, introducing cider to new customers, or looking for a Canadian specialty for your restaurant, shop or event, we would welcome the opportunity to connect.

Why Choose Canadian Cider?

A Strong Canadian Origin Story

Canada’s orchards provide a compelling starting point for discovering its cider. Many producers grow their own apples or work with local growers, creating a close connection between the fruit, the finished product and the surrounding community.

For buyers, that connection offers stories to share through product introductions, staff education, tastings and marketing: where the apples were grown, who made the cider, and what makes that producer’s approach distinctive.

Regional Diversity and Character

Producers across British Columbia, the Prairies, Ontario, Québec and Atlantic Canada work with different growing conditions, apple varieties and cider-making traditions.

That diversity gives buyers an opportunity to explore Canadian cider through individual regions and producers, building a selection with its own identity and character.

A Wide Range of Styles

Canadian producers offer dry, off-dry and sweeter ciders; still and sparkling expressions; and fruit, botanical, barrel-aged and other specialty products.

This variety creates possibilities across retail and hospitality, from approachable introductions to cider through to distinctive releases for specialist shops, tasting menus and curated beverage collections.

A Distinctive Ice Cider Tradition

Québec’s ice cider tradition offers a particularly memorable introduction to Canadian cider. Natural winter cold concentrates the apple sugars before fermentation, creating a rich, flavourful style with a strong connection to its place of origin.

Ice cider provides an opportunity to explore a Canadian specialty for dessert pairings, premium hospitality and gifting.

Craftsmanship and Innovation

Canadian cider makers bring together traditional approaches and new ideas, experimenting with apple varieties, fermentation, maturation and regional ingredients.

For buyers interested in the people and processes behind their products, Canadian cider offers producers with individual stories and a range of approaches to explore. There are hundreds of award winners across many competitions in and outside of the country, you can see some of the award winners via the Canadian Cider Awards

Our Export Goals

Cider Canada / Cidre Canada is working to increase international awareness of Canadian cider and create lasting commercial opportunities for Canadian producers and their partners.

Our priorities are to:

  • Build recognition for Canadian cider: Help buyers and consumers understand its origins, styles and regional character.
  • Develop new market opportunities: Introduce Canadian producers to prospective partners and expand connections across international markets.
  • Build lasting trade relationships: Support introductions between producers, importers, distributors, retailers and hospitality buyers.
  • Strengthen export readiness: Develop market research, educational resources and shared promotional materials that help producers prepare for international business.
  • Turn discovery into ongoing business: Connect tastings, trade events and buyer meetings with opportunities for continued conversations and commercial partnerships.

Our 2026–2028 export initiative includes a focus on the United Kingdom, alongside opportunities to engage international buyers through tastings and showcases in Canada. We also welcome conversations with prospective partners in other countries.

How We Can Work Together

Connect with Canadian Producers

Tell us about your market and the products you are looking for. We can help introduce you to producers whose styles, interests and capabilities may be a good fit.

These introductions provide a starting point for discussing product specifications, packaging, pricing, availability and potential orders directly with producers.

Explore Tastings and Buyer Meetings

We are developing opportunities for international buyers to taste Canadian cider, meet producers and learn more about the category through trade missions, product showcases and buyer engagement activities.

Contact us about upcoming opportunities, or share an idea for a tasting, trade event or introduction in your market.

Share Canadian Cider with Your Customers

A successful product introduction starts with helping people understand what they are tasting.

We welcome opportunities to collaborate on producer stories, cider education, food pairings and promotional features that introduce Canadian cider to retail teams, hospitality professionals and consumers.

Build Trade and Industry Partnerships

We welcome conversations with trade organizations, Canadian embassies and consulates, Trade Commissioners, event organizers, educators and other partners interested in introducing Canadian cider to international audiences.

If you see an opportunity for a Canadian cider showcase, a buyer visit, an educational event or a collaborative promotion, we would be pleased to explore it with you.
